AWS has expanded its payment options, allowing customers to pay in eight additional local currencies. U.S. customers can now pay in Chilean Peso (CLP), Colombian Peso (COP), and Uruguayan Peso (UYU).
Similarly, customers in Europe have the option to pay in Egyptian Pound (EGP), Nigerian Naira (NGN), Polish Zloty (PLN), Romanian Leu (RON), and Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH).
This enhancement aims to simplify the payment process by eliminating foreign exchange fees and minimizing payment challenges caused by local currency restrictions in some countries.
For Nigerian businesses this is an opportunity to use AWS without the worry of getting FX to be able to fund your AWS Cloud bill to run and deploy infrastructure in the world’s largest cloud infrastructure.
This also means you can pay in Naira for the AWS Lagos Local Zone which was launched some years ago. I also made a video on how to setup the AWS Lagos Local Zone to deploy workloads with Local IP addresses.
